Amazing camper park in incredible surroundings where you will feel extremely welcome

This is a stunning free spot in the middle of the Austrian countryside, high up in the hills. It’s a simple gravel spot at the foot of a gravel path and there is nothing in the area apart from incredible scenery and amazing views! Of course, there are some wonderful hiking paths to enjoy the mountains, either directly from your door or you can drive to one of the peaks close by and have a proper hike up!

The owners of this spot have really gone out of their way to make campers feel welcome. They have constructed a lovely room with a shower and toilet, and an additional wooden room with table and chairs, a drinks fridge full of beer, an oven, and a few kitchen items for communal use.

You will feel so welcome here and there as so many little loving touches that make you feel at home

This room is at the top of the gravel path, so if people are using it to hang out and enjoy a drink it has no impact on the peace and quiet of the camping spot. There is also a water well with fresh water directly from the mountain and on the hill you can see bee hives – you can buy honey, propolis, honey candles, and honey comb, just leave your payment in the honesty box.

This camping spot is found at an altitude of 1350m, so the drive up is long, steep, and winding.

In places, it does get narrow but there is always room to pass another car, and there is not a lot of traffic going on! You’ll need to keep an eye out for the left turn down to the spot as it could easily be missed.

This really is a special place and we feel lucky to be able to share this farmer’s land for a night or two. We’ve never enjoyed such spectacular views on a free spot! The facilities are also immaculate. We recommend leaving a donation for the owners.

Be advised

The roads to get here are steep and windy so be prepared to take it slow! They are narrow in places and the final track down is a gravel road only. Therefore, it may not work out for the very largest mobile homes.
Also, we stayed here in 2023 and 2024 and during these years it was a free spot. However, when we checked on Park4Night it now says there is a fee. If anyone stays here in 2025 and can confirm, please send us an email!
