Parking with mountain views and citadel city
This camper spot at Briançon in the Hautes Alpes department is centrally located in the city. There are about 8 places reserved for large camper vans and overnight stay is allowed (no height limit). For smaller vans a bigger parking area is available nearby. There is a good bakery across the street that serves coffee in the morning, as well as a nice pizzeria and a bar. Access to the medieval city is a mere few hundred meters away. This ‘Vauban style’ citadel, walled with sturdy gates and watchtowers is nice for an evening walk or something to eat. The area is famous for cycling and hiking the big peaks (Galibier, Alpe d’Huez) and skiing during winter season.
