Plazhi i Bardhë Camping, built in 2024, is a brand-new, truly beach-vibes campground – you stay practically on the beach, with a totally free camping feeling. Imagine sitting there with your feet in the sand, looking out at the horizon, watching a stunning sunset… or running straight from your camper to the water for your morning swim. There’s nothing between you and the beautiful sea. Just perfect.

Some pitches are shaded by roofs made from wood and reed, others are right at the beach’s edge, and some are at the foot of the dunes – feel free to choose the spot that suits you best.

The campsite manager, Mrs. Kändmaa, always makes sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. She listens carefully to visitors‘ wishes and, for example, has recently added a new outdoor dishwashing area and outdoor showers.

A local farmer visits the campsite every morning, selling fresh fruits and vegetables. The large, clean sanitary building is always spotless and has more than enough toilets and showers.

The chemical toilet and grey water disposal are located behind the site – out of sight and unobtrusive. Water tap can be found at almost every pitch.

Plazhi i Bardhë is a large, beautiful sandy beach located in the south of the well-known Albanian city of Durrës.

Plazhi i Bardhe

The beach is completely remote – just nature, the wild sea, a breezy wind, high dunes, and the blue sky above you. This place invites you to swim, make a campfire, enjoy a picnic, hike, do yoga, build sandcastles, sunbathe – or simply do whatever you feel like. It’s one of the last really wild nature spots in Albania, where tourism infrastructure is growing very fast.

A really amazing spot

We visited Plazhi i Bardhë on the recommendation of friends – and they were right. It's a beautiful place with a free, wild camping feel but with excellent facilities. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Be advised

The road to the campsite is a bit of an adventure – like many roads in Albania – but totally manageable also for bigger vehicles. If the wind comes from the wrong direction, the sea might sometimes have sea grass. But it’s usually enough to walk a little to the right or left, outside the campsite, and you’ll find clear water again. The restaurant remains closed in the winter. And please, be particurarly arefull if visiting the beach in winter – the sea turtels are coming to lay their eggs in sand.
