Avignon is known to be the twin city of the Vatican. Due to political differences, 9 popes preferred Avignon over the Italian headquarters and this was for a short period of time during the 14th century.

The campsite is located on the peninsula of the Rhone valley, about ten minutes by bike, or 20 min by foot to the little free ferry (called ‘bac’) to cross the river.

Leave your bikes at the jetty, since the city gate is a few steps away! The camping has a lush and green feeling. The great, new swimming pool and adjoining nice restaurant/bar area create a cosy atmosphere.

The food truck serves some delicious pizzas at night, made to order- takeaway or eat on the terrace with a bottle of local wine.

All pitches have new electrical ‘bornes’. There is a new dumping station with drinkwater. The campsite is open all year around and the perfect spot for a short trip or stop-over.
Camping Lodges and Nature offers Safari Tents for 4-6 people, complete with bath, kitchen, and all essentials for families.
For the guests, there are new safari tents and cabins on site. All embedded in the green parklike environment.

The campsite has an almost tropical vegetation, some traffic noise is to be accepted, being this close to town.
Swings, table tennis, and beach volleyball are available. They are expanding the sports facilities to include paddle and a multi-sport court.

This campsite is a starting operation, working since April 23 under Stephan's enthusiastic leadership. Lots of work is already done, and some improvements are to come! There is a real ‘holiday vibe’ due to the large heated pool with comfortable sun loungers and the adjacent bar.
