Blokhus Natur Camping is a fantastic place for nature lovers looking for a quiet holiday in Danish nature. This is the place to be if you enjoy a simple yet beautiful camping life — with everything you need.
The area is spacious, offering 300 pitches, 150 of which are without electricity and located in the last rows near the forest — perfect for those who prefer the quiet part of the campsite. The rows are bordered by trees and bushes, and all pitches are on grassy fields. There’s even a lake on the grounds.

A large natural area lies between the campsite and the beach, ideal for long walks (with or without a dog) or for children's adventures. The Jansen family bought the campsite in 2023 and have been steadily improving it since. You’ll often find them at the reception or around the campsite — they are proud of their work and happy to help with anything you need.

Although this is a pure nature campsite, you don’t need to give up your usual camping comforts.
There’s a well-stocked small shop at the reception, a coffee bar where you can order fresh bread or pizza, a corner with some Danish treats, and — in the main building — a large cozy common and activity room with a TV, dining tables, bookshelves, and even a piano.

The sanitary facilities, including family bathrooms and a shared camping kitchen, are older and simple, but very clean. Laundry can be used for free. There are no organized activities, but children are warmly welcomed and can enjoy a large playground behind the main building or rent a pedal car.

An outdoor fireplace and picnic tables are also available. Drinking water is accessible at the sanitary building or from taps located in the more remote parts of the campsite.

Thy National Park – Denmark’s first national park – is just an hour’s drive away, and a horse ranch and golf course are located very close to the campsite.

The beach, hidden behind large dunes, is about a 30-minute walk or a 10-minute bike ride away.
Like some other beaches in Denmark, this one is an “Autostrand”, which means you're allowed to drive your car on the beach — a unique experience rarely found elsewhere in Europe.

Of course, you must follow a few important rules: drive carefully, don’t park too close to the waterline, and note that overnight stays on the beach are not allowed. The beach is very wide, so don’t worry — there’s plenty of space for everyone.
We visited Blokhus Natur Camping on our way to Norway and spent a beautiful afternoon surrounded by splendid nature. We took our bikes to the beach, as we were worried our camper might get stuck in the sand and cause us to miss our ferry later on. Still, we absolutely loved the purity and calm of this place.

Be advised
Pets are warmly welcome, but don’t forget the Danish rules — dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. In some parts of Denmark, there are designated dog forests where dogs can run freely.
If you arrive and the reception is closed, simply use the digital display in the entrance hall to book and pay for your stay.
