Speaking of views, if you walk just 5 minutes around the corner on leaving the campsite by the top entrance, you come to the famous terrace of the castle.

It is completely breathtaking and motivates you to get down the hill and explore the beautiful, historic city! Make sure you get some refreshments in the city, as you will need some energy to climb the hill again to get back to the campsite!

Toilets are dotted in various locations throughout the site so you never have to walk too far no matter where your pitch is. There is a lovely bar next to the friendly reception, which also sells bread first thing in the morning on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are washing-up sinks, tables and chairs, games areas, and verandahs to be found throughout. It gives a real sense of privacy to each area and even if the campsite is full, there are not that many people needing to use the seating areas or sinks, so it’s never crowded.
