Camping a stone's throw from the stunning lake

This campsite run by Huttopia on Lac de Serre Poncon is a real treat to stay at. The main area for campers is directly on the lake and is terraced so that everyone has a stunning view, no matter where you set up your temporary home. The spot are incredibly spacious too on all sides so you can really spread out and enjoy your camp! As well as the main field for campers, there are a few additional spots tucked away in the trees, and some at the highest point of the campsite with picnic benches included. There is a lovely variety and you are free to choose where to stay.

During the season, it’s a really popular destination for water sports and just down the road from the campsite is an area where you can hire sail boats, SUP boards, and plenty of other things with which to make the most of the water. Of course, you can also just dip in, cool off, enjoy!

There are many hiking trails that leave from the campsite itself, so if you want to head off on foot and explore you have many options here. Also, the campsite itself is massive, so you can have a great walk simply exploring all the areas.

After the main camping area you will find an excellent communal zone for all guests with a couple of food huts, a cafe, plenty of seating, a playground, games such as table tennis and a badminton court, and an awesome swimming pool.

The reception area is really friendly and welcoming. This campsite is also great value considering its location, especially just after the peak season. There are plenty of sanitary buildings spread throughout too, so you don’t have to walk too far to get to the facilities!

What an amazing spot!

We could have sat outside our van looking at the lake for days. We were here just after the high season and it was so quiet. It is simply stunning. We definitely recommend this spot, especially if you wait until September to take your holidays - it’s great value and the surroundings don’t get better than this.

It’s a steep road down to this campsite but it’s well maintained and is possible for campers of all sizes. Also, there is no WiFi on the pitches, just at the central communal area where the pool and cafe is.
