Beautiful surroundings and the nearness of Kamnik Alps

In Kamp Resnik, there are many opportunities for easy walks in the surrounding area, while the highest tops of the Kamnik Alps that reach over 2000m can give you more challenging climbs. One of the most visited places is Velika Planina, which is full of small old mountain houses and cattle in the summer as it is one of the oldest highland pastures in Europe. Mountain bikers can also find plenty of cycling tours in the area. During the evening hours you can visit the old town center of Kamnik, possibly with guide from the local tourist office.

Take a teleseat to the perfect views and hikes

The journey is definitely part of the fun. First a ‘telecabin’ takes you up from 560m high till 1420m and then the double teleseats take you even higher (1666m).

The ‘shepherds walk' starts at the top, you pass beautiful all-wooden dwellings and the local church.

Further on the trail there are good signs and clear explanation panels about life on the high plateau. If you want a more easy route, you just hop off at the middle teleseat station and start the walk from there.

Fancy overnight mountain stay?

Right under the telecabin track is Kamp Kraljev Hrib. Both campers and tents can stay here. Just be cautious as the drive way is quite steep and can get muddy.

The campsite stretches along a rather busy road but offers a quiet night close to town for restaurants and shops.

All the usual and a few unexpected facilities (large communal pool) can be found here including a bakery shop and an excellent bike shop, should you need one. There are a few bistros and places to have a drink if you don't fancy cooking yourself.

During high season in summer we only accept reservations for those that would like to stay for several days (not only for one night). Usually we do have some spots available for overnight stays, but it's best to not come too late in the day. Reservations are therefore not possible for one night in summer.
