Dunvegan is a little fishermans' town with a century-old bakery and well-kept ‘grand' castle with gardens to visit. There is a petrol station and a few restaurants, a fish tackle shop, and the Dunvegan Hotel and bar.

Kinloch campsite offers a friendly reception. They inform you about the local highlights and show you the road to the lighthouse, a single-track road with passing places.

The campsite is popular for kayaking on the lake. The Talisker whiskey distillery is about 45 min drive from the site.

Electrical hookups are available on all plots, fresh water is behind reception and a new grey water station is under construction. The sanitary block with showers and toilets is basic but clean. There is a garbage collection point with refuse separation.

The campsite is close to the village allowing for an evening stroll around the lake and drinks in the local pub. In the morning the local bakery shop, just across the old bridge -presumably the oldest on Skye- offers fresh bread and cakes.
