Free spot with sea view close to the city, next to the aquarium
Free spot for about 12 camper vans on the peninsula next to the aquarium. View on the lighthouse ‘Torre de Hercules' and sculpture park! The sea lions at the bay inlet get their lunch around 12pm, you can observe them from the parking lot (for free).
This parking area provides no services but has great access to the city by bike or walking path along the seashore. The Torre de Hercules with giant compass rose is at walking distance. The modern sculpture garden invites you to stroll along the peninsula.
City centre 10 minutes by bike, a safe ride along the seafront promenade. You can park your bike at the Fine Arts Museum. La Coruna is a real working city; it boasts a huge square Praza Maria Pita and the ‘cidade velha' (old city) where every house has a glazed balcony. The harbour is filled with yachts and the occasional cruise ship.
The Mercado de San Augustin is a real architectural gem and not to be missed. It's La Corunas answer to Bilbaos Guggenheim but in a more modest Galician way. Buy some groceries or fresh local fish and enjoy chatting with the vendors.
