Although the campsite has existed since the 1980s, its real transformation began in 2018, when Thomas Fischer took it over and completely rebuilt it. Within just a few years, the former neglected site was turned into a modern, design-focused campsite inspired by the Ruhrpott industrial heritage. which makes it stand out from many other campsites.
One of the highlights is the unique “Zechturm” playground, inspired by mining towers, where children can climb, explore, and have hours of fun. They also created their own brand, “Pott.
You can buy cups, stickers, and T-shirts with it at the reception.

The campsite offers spacious green pitches of around 100 square meters, giving you plenty of privacy and room to relax. Whether you travel with a camper, caravan, or tent, you can choose your own perfect spot—sunny or shaded, just the way you like it. Families especially appreciate the open space, where children can safely play in the meadows while adults enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

The facilities are modern and thoughtfully designed. The sanitary buildings are spacious and comfortable, with no time limits on showers—something you don’t often find at campsites. There is also a welcoming restaurant Pottkantine, where fresh, regional food is prepared with care, creating a friendly and social atmosphere.

Another major attraction is the natural swimming pool. Instead of chlorine, the water is cleaned using plants and natural microorganisms, creating a refreshing and eco-friendly swimming experience.

The pool is divided into different zones for swimmers, non-swimmers, and small children, making it perfect for families.

On warm days, it becomes the heart of the campsite, where guests can relax, swim, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

We visited this campsite in April and enjoyed the restaurant, and I especially, as a lover of cold-water swimming, appreciated the natural swimming pool, which also has really great opening hours, starting from 7 o’clock in the morning.
