An amble along the river Wye will get you to the the town of Hay, around 3 miles from the campsite, where you can explore the many bookshops, the newly renovated castle, and dine at the many eateries scattered throughout town.
If it’s a more relaxed trip you’re after, not only are there spectacular views of Hay Bluff, but there are lots of great walks from the campsite. It is situated alongside the Wye Valley Walk, and a walk up through the village will take you past a woodland trust site to arrive on the open hillside of The Begwns with panoramic views of the beautiful landscape.
