Azur Camping Schwäbische Alb is a fantastic campsite, open all year so you can enjoy your holiday here no matter the season you choose to travel. It is found in between Stuttgart and Lake Constance, and the area of the Schwäbische Alb is one of the main tourist attractions in south west Germany. This campsite is certainly the best choice for your accommodation if you are keen to explore this gorgeous area. You do not need to own a campervan or mobile home either, as this site has some wonderful accommodation to offer!

Let’s start with the camping. Azur Camping Schwäbische Alb has a mixture of pitches to suit all camping preferences.
There are green fields for tents, hard-standing flat pitches for larger mobile homes, and plateaus at differing levels so you can choose your most ideal perspective! All the sites have access to water and electricity and there is a central building with toilets, showers, laundry services, sinks for dishes, and an area for chemical toilet disposal.

This whole are is immaculately kept and the heating system running throughout is incredible during winter. The radiator pipes run through each shower cubicle and the floor is heated too so you never step on a chilly surface or feel a cool breeze!

Towards the top of the camping area is a covered fire pit with benches around, a perfect spot to hang out with your family and fellow campers, during summer or winter evenings.

There are two playgrounds, one closer to the entrance and one that is perhaps geared towards slightly older kids in the middle of the top field. The swimming pool is obviously closed during winter, though during the warmer season it has a great seating area where you can find some shade. The cafe and shop within the reception building mean that you can grab some essentials on site, which is perfect as the motivation to leave this place once you have checked in is hard to come by!

Now, if you do not travel with a camper or fancy a break from your home on wheels, there are some awesome glamping and accommodation options at Azur Camping Schwäbische Alb. There are camping barrels dotted throughout the site, some with terraces to sit out including a bar-be-que and some with picnic benches outside.

Wood lodges are a larger option, good for families, and also have lovely terraces from which to take in the view and enjoy a drink after dinner.

At the edge of the campsite on the highest level you can find the nature lodges.

These are large, permanent and sturdy tent structures and from the front porch of these you have an uninterrupted view over the endless fields and forests. It is a wonderful sight and a definite highlight of the whole campsite.

Needless to say, this is a brilliant campsite to choose if you love to be outdoors and hiking. You can have a great walk without even leaving the grounds, and in the surrounding fields and forests you can trek for kilometres without seeing signs of civilisation.

If you are travelling with your four-legged family members, you can book one of the specialised pitches found along the front line of the campsite, which are entirely fenced in so you don’t have to worry about your dog wandering off where they shouldn’t.

Finally, we must mention the wonderful staff at this campsite. You will be made to feel welcome here with such honest friendliness that you immediately feel at home. Great care is taken to ensure that all of the facilities remain in perfect condition for all guests. When we stayed during the winter we were one of approx. 4 groups of campers on site and even with such a small booking, someone was on site first thing clearing the snow and taking care of the communal areas.
We loved this site and highly recommend it, especially for a winter break
It is such a beautiful site and it is lovely to look out on all sides and just see fields and forests. We also loved the night time lighting of the whole place - it is thoughtfully spread along the walkways and facility blocks and gently glows orange, which we think is SO much nicer than bright white spotlights from above :)
