Basic campsite in Parma – perfect to visit the city by bus
The location is not that great, being literally at the exit of the highway and next to Lidl ( convenient for getting fresh bread and croissants in the morning). Reception is very friendly, professional (lots of information and free map of the city). All amenities are on site (elect and water disposal/dump station but shower capacity is limited. The bus stop is at 50m, taking you directly to the city centre. There is a cycling path too but we found the distance too far.

Parma is a wonderful student city, lots of museums, beautiful Duomo and lots of great restaurants and bars. Italy at its best …try the GROM ice cream. Parma is home of the delicious ham – have a look at La Posciutteria on Via Farini – and Parmesan cheese.
For a top experience go to Soragna, at about half an hour drive. Caseificio Soragna (SP di Diolo) buy some quality Parmesan cheese, ask to see the ‘magasino’… hundreds of ripening Parmesan ‘wheels’ are kept there, the smell is amazing and it's a great photo opportunity!
