Park up in a lovely, small orchard next to a restaurant in the middle of the countryside

Farmhouse Poggio is a charming restaurant with a small orchard to the side, which is where you will be set up with your camping spot! On arrival, you will be greeted by the owner who is so friendly and welcoming, he will guide you into your spot among the trees. The restaurant has sporadic opening times, but if you want some food you should let the owner know on arrival and he will whip something up for you, even if the whole restaurant is not opening. This is such great service and you feel quite spoiled here!

The area set aside for campers feels like a very small and private campsite

Farmhouse Poggio

It has a great view out over the Italian hills and is in quite a remote area. If you walk out of the restaurant, you are immediately in amongst the vineyards and can seemingly walk endlessly without coming across another village or even house. The night sky is beautiful and the only sounds you will hear is the wildlife.

It is really good value to stay at this spot for just €13 per night. If you want electricity, this will cost a little extra, which is fair. All other services are also provided for campers, including a toilet and a shower. These facilities are just for campers, you do not need to enter the restaurant to use them.

With many restaurants, it is compulsory to eat a meal there in order to utilise the camping area, but here you can just enjoy the peaceful, remote spot and not feel obligated to eat. We did not have dinner here, though the owner did offer, but reviews that we read of the food speak only of its excellence!

You are camping in a small field of trees here so do not expect level ground! Also, it can get busy during the high season, and of course during the opening hours of the restaurant, so if you want to be sure of your spot you should call or email in advance.
