Many of the pitches on this site are clearly marked with bushes forming natural borders, though a good third of the site is more of a free-choice space with larger grassy areas where you can set up how you like.

There are plenty of trees on site, which provide excellent shade across the park, creating a cool and peaceful environment even during peak summer heat.

The central toilet and wash block is kept meticulously clean and provides warm showers, individual wash cabins, laundry sinks, and dishwashing areas. Fully accessible wheelchair facilities are integrated into the main building. Everything is here that you need and is all in great condition – however, it is all a little dated, so don’t expect a modern look to this whole area!

The location on an island provides beautiful water views as soon as you step outside of the campsite and the natural sound of rushing water from the nearby river creates a relaxing “white noise” backdrop that blocks out nearby village traffic.

If you walk just a few metres down the river bank from exiting the campsite, you come to the swimming area of the river. It opens out into a large, deep pool that is crystal clear and so refreshing.

There is a rocky area that you can climb up and jump into the water and the local people often have rope swings set up in this area.
It is a spot where the river travels at speed too, so you can swim to the top of the area and let the rapids carry you back to the shallows! This whole area is so much fun and an absolute joy on hot summer days. It is a definite reason to spend a night or two at this campsite.
