The family Tanaskoski created this friendly and modern campsite in 2021, building on their experience from running their first camping site – and it really worked out well. Camping Lake Side 2 has only six pitches, which makes it a truly family-friendly site. Almost all pitches have a lake view, and the sanitary building with two toilets and two showers is more than sufficient.

A washing machine, a large fridge, a sheltered picnic area, and a BBQ with an outdoor kitchen are available at all times. The pebble beach is large enough to accommodate all visitors.
Fresh water, chemical toilet disposal, rubbish bins, and camera surveillance complete the facilities.

The crystal-clear water of Ohrid Lake invites you to take a swim or ride a stand-up paddleboard, which you can rent directly at the campsite. Use of the sunbeds on the beach is free of charge. You may also try fishing or simply relax by the shore.

On the shelf in the picnic area you’ll find bottles of red, rosé, and white wine for sale. The wine and also liqueurs are delicious and homemade by the family.

Ohrid Lake is located between Albania and North Macedonia and is one of Europe’s deepest and oldest lakes. With a maximum depth of 288 metres, it is the deepest lake in the Balkans. Its incredibly clear water attracts tourists from all over the world.

The North Macedonian side of Lake Ohrid was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, including the cultural and historic area of the town of Ohrid.

The Ohrid–Prespa Transboundary Reserve was also added to UNESCO’s World Network of Biosphere Reserves.

Lake Ohrid and its surroundings are truly worth visiting at any time of the year. Summers here are never as hot as on the coast of the Ionian Sea, which lies about 200 km away.
You will immediately feel that Ohrid Lake lies 695 m above sea level.

A visit to the town of Ohrid will surely be one of the highlights of your trip. Around Goce Delchev Street you can find many authentic restaurants, while St. Clement of Ohrid Street is lined with souvenir and jewellery shops.

The town also offers beautiful beaches with stylish restaurants. The old centre is located on a hill above the lake, where you can explore, for example, the Ancient Theatre built around 200 BC, the Church of St. Clement, or the Church of St. Jovan. The view from the old town is unforgettable – you would hardly believe this is only a lake and not the sea.

Due to the small size of the campsite, it is recommended to make a reservation by email or phone before your arrival. There is also a grey-water disposal facility, although it is not directly accessible by car – you can, however, collect the grey water in a bucket and then empty it.
