Freizeit and Camping Park Thräna is a quiet family campsite in the heart of Upper Lusatia, between Bautzen and Görlitz. Surrounded by forests, ponds, and cycling routes, it is a great base for exploring this beautiful part of eastern Germany. The campsite is separated from the day visitor area, so overnight guests can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere at the campsite even during the main season.

The camping offers large grassy pitches for campers, caravans and tents, as well as two simple cabins for those who prefer not to travel with their own accommodation.
There are dedicated family pitches and quieter areas for guests looking for extra peace. The sanitary facilities are older, but always clean, and included in the price.

Campers also have access to a small camping kitchen, dishwashing area, washing machine, dryer, fresh water, electricity, chemical toilet and grey water disposal and free Wi-Fi.
There is also a small nice decorated indoor playroom, giving children a nice place to play when the weather is rainy or too cold to stay outside.
Freizeit and Camping Park Thräna
On warm days, families can cool off in the amazing natural swimming pond with its small sandy beach.
One of the biggest advantages is that every camping guest receives free entry to the Freizeitpark. Children can spend hours on the large natural playground with climbing equipment, a giant sandbox, slides, and play areas.

There is also a petting zoo with ponny Bruno, donkey Willi and some goats, a deer enclosure, football goals, table tennis and a unique Bauern-Gaudi-Golf course, a fun mix of mini golf and golf built with old farming machinery.
Freizeit and Camping Park Thräna
The beautiful surrounding region offers plenty things to discover. You can cycle or hike through the Upper Lusatian countryside, visit the historic towns of Bautzen and Görlitz, explore the House of a Thousand Ponds Biosphere Reserve, or spend time at nearby Lake Quitzdorf. The campsite is also a good starting point for exploring the German-Polish-Czech border region.
One thing that makes this campsite special is the family behind it. The Mitschke family has been developing the campsite and leisure park for many years, and you can really feel that they care about their guests.
Freizeit and Camping Park Thräna
Everyone is friendly, helpful, and always trying to make sure visitors have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The whole place is tidy, well maintained, and thoughtfully designed for families.
The campsite is wonderfully quiet, and after a busy day of travelling, we really appreciated the peaceful atmosphere. Our only regret was that our daughters are already a bit too old to fully enjoy everything the campsite offers. If they were younger, they would have happily spent a lot of time on the playground and in the natural swimming pond.

Be advised
This is a family campsite next to a deer farm, so keeping noise to a minimum is important for the animals as well as the other guests. It is definitely not a party campsite—but children will have more than enough fun here.
