Salema EcoCamp is located between Sagres and Lagos, one could consider this as the ‘rough’ rocky outcrops of the Portuguese Algarve coast.

Salema Eco Camp
The label ‘EcoCamp’ is always quite tricky; everybody has a different idea and expectation. Salema definitely is a bit ‘off mainstream’, lots of families with children (even in low season all homeschooling), the occasional yogis, artists, digital nomads.. all people preferring an alternative way of life.

Longer stays are quite normal here and you feel as you join a community
Of course, everybody desires a bit of comfort so the showers and toilets are new and up to standard.

Salema Eco Camp
The Ecocamp is located on a steep hill making it a ‘challenge’ to get to some of the higher pitches. The lower ones are to be preferred in summer because of the shade, in winter higher pitches give you more sunshine. Accommodation is in tipis and safari tents for families mostly on the outer parts of the site, so with a nice panoramic view.
