A small, incredibly welcoming farm in the middle of the French countryside

If you like camping with all the comforts in a sustainable way, accompanied by the sound of cowbells and an eco-conscience ethos, then point your motor to the French South West and seek out the eight and half charming acres of La Jaurie. This is farm camping at its finest and it is the perfect choice for a family holiday that is off-grid, adventurous, and back to nature. It is definitely a spot that is geared towards longer camping holidays, rather than an overnight stop-off along your journey, and you will get so much out of this gorgeous camp if you spend a few days and settle in among the trees.

Camping La Jaurie — Walktrough

Set on a hill overlooking enchanting woodlands and alongside a small meandering river, La Jaurie boasts a lovely collection of old buildings and barns and a camping field, bordered by beehives and an orchard of walnut tress. Chickens roam freely, as does Woef the dog, not to mention Pockie and Rhino, the resident cats. There's even a couple of friendly donkeys to meet, so be sure to save a carrot or two.

The pitches for camping are so spacious, you can take your time setting up your camp and really make yourself at home.

At some of the spots, you really feel as though you are camping in the wilderness, and will need to take a short walk through the trees and fields to find the facilities of the farm! This only enhances the fantastic experience here.

During the season, the owners spend a lot of time with campers and are especially mindful of creating a space where children can fully explore this natural environment and fall in love with the countryside.

There is a whole area down by the small river where younger campers can craft a miniature village from anything they can find in the forest.

Each year, the winter takes its toll on this area, so come spring and the arrival of the first families, the task of re-building it starts once again!

Very nice and secluded

We only spent a night here but it was lovely to be so far out in the French countryside. There is no light pollution at night and nothing to hear except the owls. It’s a really fantastic farm to walk around, the land here feels endless! Whether you say hi to the donkeys close to the campervan spots or walk a little further to see the sheep, there is no doubt that this is a campsite that loves nature and wants guests to as well.
