First autumn trip. Into Croatia for second time to a great campsite near Split. Three weeks of intermittent windy and sunny weather and short days have different atmosphere than spring.
Sun has heated the northern hemisphere and we set out on trip to see first country outside Europe. Turkish spring is beautiful. We made over 8.000 km on highways, roads and dirt roads. Wonderful 59 days.
Martin Rosulek interviewed me in 2014. Martin is a great and busy marketer who travels with his girlfriend and works from many awesome locations. We’ve met a few times and always had fruitful discussions about life, values and the joy of doing unusual things.
Two years ago we have slowed down drastically. We’ve changed our approach to work and realised, that the goal isn’t building a family house and looking after a garden. I bought a caravan, furnished it with the most essential stuff and together with my wife & kids we’ve started to live on the road.
Forget travel agencies. Blend work and holiday for a whole new experience. Travel without an organised schedule. It costs just a bit of effort and knowing your life priorities.
The truth is that paying for toll roads when traveling on a camping trailer isn’t worth it. You typically drive at about 80km an hour – the same speed you’d travel at on non-toll roads – and you pay way higher fees than you would on car, about 150 to 200% more than the typical car…
Summer nicely accelerated all the changes. I wouldn’t believe that caravan would work so great. We started two years ago and I already know about a couple of new caravan travellers. I also know about Transporter guys and few other wannabes. Some are also changing from alcove to fully integrated RV.

Our second caravan trip was worth it. We went through tidy Austria, clean north and also wild south of Italy — 11 camps altogether. Traveling with family worked on a trip over 5.000 km long. Toyota did everything well.
